As this term gains popularity amongst us car enthusiasts, it is especially important in the LBC, or Little British Car community. The vast majority of our favorites; Triumphs (Yea!!), Austin Healeys, Jensens, Morgans, Minis, MGs etc are from the 50s, 60s and 70s vintage. They've aged. We try our best to keep them running well for grocery runs and cruises but what about their safety? Good brakes systems, good tires, good wiring, Hazards lights.
We are at our most vulnerable of being struck by a vehicle when relying on other drivers to see us if we experience a roadside breakdown. Especially on a highway shoulder. If they are not aware of our presence, they don't know to avoid us, right?
Our tail lights are much lower to the ground than all other cars. Today's cars are much taller, blocking the view of our flashing Hazards. Spitfire Upgrades developed systems that ensure maximum visibility of our LBCs.
Flip-front bonnets like Jaguars, Spitfires, GT6s offer the highest point on the car to place flashing hazard lights. Thinking outside the box, we started kitting all components needed to apply your own flashing Hazards lights up at the highest point of your bonnet and / or boot lid. LEDs! These kits come with LED lights, the right length of wire, modern wire connectors and shrink tubing to install the lights. And better yet, they come on with the car's Hazards switch. A non-crimping T connector attaches to your existing green wire at the turn signal.
All you have to do is clean the area on the underside of the bonnet -or- boot lid, -or- hatch lid on a GT6 or MGB GT with rubbing alcohol to promote maximum adhesion of the double-sided foam tape on the lights. Double your safety & visibility by applying a kit to both your bonnet and boot lid.
